Virtual Rhythm and Release Somatic Dance Workshop

Join us this March for a 90-minute virtual workshop where we will embark on a transformative journey, blending grounding practices, Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) meditation, free-form dance, and journaling into a holistic experience of self-discovery and rejuvenation.

  • Grounding Practices
Our session begins with a grounding exercise to connect you to the earth. We'll also practice mindful walking, focusing on the sensation of each step, and engage in visualization exercises, imagining roots extending from your feet into the ground, fostering a deep sense of stability and presence.

  • Progressive Muscle Relaxation Meditation
Experience the calming effects of PMR meditation. This guided session invites you to systematically tense and relax your muscles, accompanied by deep, conscious breathing. This technique alleviates stress and enhances body awareness, leading to profound relaxation.

  • Free-Form Dance
Let your body express itself freely in our free-form dance segment. Move intuitively to the rhythm of music, exploring your creativity and emotions through dance. The session concludes with a reflective dance, allowing for a gentle, introspective integration of your experience.

  • Journaling
To deepen your workshop experience, we incorporate journaling as a tool for reflection and personal insight. After each activity, take a moment to journal your thoughts, feelings, and revelations. This practice helps solidify your experiences, providing a tangible record of your journey and insights gained.

This workshop is an opportunity to explore and develop a deeper connection with your body and emotions, leaving you feeling grounded, relaxed, and creatively inspired. Whether you're seeking stress relief, emotional release, or simply a fun and unique experience, our workshop offers something for everyone.

Complimentary Comforts

How to prepare for the workshop:

  • Before the session, it's advisable to avoid heavy meals and refrain from drinking large amounts of liquids.

  • Before joining the workshop, take a moment to reflect on what brings you here. What are your goals or intentions? What do you hope to achieve?

  • We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, that allows you to move freely and relax fully. Choose clothes that won't restrict your movements or distract you, ensuring a more focused and enjoyable session.

  • Choose a tranquil and private area where you feel at ease and secure and cannot be overheard or interrupted by others.

  • Transform your chosen space into a sanctuary. Consider lighting candles, energy cleansing, or incorporating meaningful symbols or items that resonate with you. Creating an atmosphere that excites you and offers safety and peace is essential.

  • Embrace your emotions with acceptance and openness, rather than suppressing or judging them.

  • Come with a mind ready to explore and learn, setting aside preconceived notions, judgments, or critical thoughts about the practice for yourself or others.

  • And remember, it's perfectly fine to pause or step back if you ever feel too much intensity or discomfort. Choosing is more important than doing. Your well-being is paramount.

  • Gather your essentials: a yoga mat, cushions, bolsters, blankets, and, optionally, a blindfold and tissues.

  • Arrive on time to ensure you catch all the vital instructions.

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection and quality speakers or headphones, as music will be a part of our session.

  • Download & print the provided journal, or bring your notebook, pens, crayons, or markers for any reflective writing or drawing.

  • Have a comforting beverage, such as cacao, herbal tea, or water, to help you stay hydrated and relaxed.
